Lockdown-capable doors and PA? That's our wheelhouse. πŸ“ž (203) 985-1000 Β· Mon–Fri 8 AM – 5 PM

Voice, IT, and security for Connecticut schools.

K-12 public and private, charter schools, and post-secondary institutions. We design building-wide systems that handle the everyday β€” classroom phones, bell schedules, dismissal PA β€” and that work reliably in the emergencies you hope never happen.

What schools typically need from us

Classroom voice + main office system

A phone in every classroom (often required by state regulations now), reliably reaching the main office and 911. Multi-line front office phones with intercom callout to classrooms. Integration with the bell schedule and PA system so admin announcements happen from the same handsets.

Building-wide paging and bells

Modern paging systems that handle scheduled bells, school-wide announcements, and emergency lockdown announcements from any administrative phone or a dedicated control panel. Multi-zone where you want gym/cafeteria/classroom independence.

Lockdown-capable access control

PDK access control with one-button lockdown that secures all exterior doors instantly from any authorized phone. Visitor management at building entries. Scheduled unlock/lock by bell schedule. Audit log of every door event for incident review.

Video surveillance at entries and hallways

Cameras at building entries, hallways, parking lots, and other public-traffic areas. Sized for the school's retention policy. Digital Watchdog is our default β€” NDAA-compliant options available for districts requiring it.

FERPA-aware IT

Student information system access controls, audit logging, role-based permissions. Encrypted backups. M365 for Education or Google for Education depending on what the district has standardized. Network segmentation between staff, student, and BYOD networks.

Cabling for technology refresh cycles

School cabling has to handle classroom devices, interactive whiteboards, cameras, access controllers, wireless coverage, and bell/PA systems. We do these during summer windows and known scheduled breaks. Structured cabling β†’

Funding considerations

Education projects often involve E-Rate, capital improvement budgets, and grant funding with strict timelines and documentation requirements. We work within those constraints β€” providing documentation packages, quote formats, and ARRA/ESSER-style reporting where applicable. We're not E-Rate consultants ourselves, but we work alongside your district's consultants.

What we're careful about

  • Camera positioning. Public areas only β€” never classrooms or restrooms. Clear policy on retention, access, and what triggers review.
  • Student data on staff devices. We deploy MDM and conditional access to protect student data on bring-your-own-device endpoints.
  • Emergency procedures. Lockdown buttons need to be where staff can actually reach them and unmistakable for the panic moment. We position with admin and SRO input, not just where it's easiest to wire.

Summer is the time: Most of our school work happens between mid-June and mid-August. If you're planning a refresh, talk to us in January or February β€” that's when we lock in summer windows and order long-lead-time equipment.
