Managed IT, for businesses that don't need a full-time IT person.

An outside IT team that handles the boring-but-critical work β€” patching, monitoring, help desk, backups, security β€” so you can stop worrying about it. Flat monthly fee. No surprise hourly bills. Someone local who actually answers the phone.

What's included

Our standard Managed IT package covers the work that every business needs done, whether they realize it or not.

  • Help desk for end users. Phone, email, or remote screen-share. Same-day for normal issues, immediate for anything breaking your business.
  • 24/7 monitoring. Servers, network gear, endpoints. We see problems before users do β€” disk filling up, backups failing, drives starting to fail, security events.
  • Patch management. Windows updates, Microsoft 365 updates, third-party app updates. Patched on a schedule, not "whenever the user clicks the popup."
  • Endpoint security. Modern EDR (not just antivirus) on every workstation and server. Centrally managed and monitored.
  • Backup management. Daily backups verified, quarterly test restores documented, retention policies enforced.
  • Vendor coordination. One number for you to call. We handle Microsoft, your ISP, your software vendors, the printer guy.
  • Quarterly business reviews. A real conversation about what's working, what's at risk, what to plan for. Not a sales pitch.
  • Documentation. Your network, your accounts, your passwords, your licenses β€” all documented and accessible to authorized contacts.

Co-managed IT β€” if you already have IT internally

You have an in-house IT person and they're good β€” but they can't do everything. Co-managed IT means we work alongside them, not instead of them.

Typical division of labor:

  • Your person: day-to-day user support, the things that need someone physically on-site, anything specific to your business operations.
  • Us: after-hours and weekend coverage, 24/7 monitoring, specialized projects (M365 migrations, security audits, network redesigns), vendor escalation, vacation coverage so they can actually take vacation.

The goal is to make your IT person more effective β€” not replace them. Our co-managed customers retain their IT staff longer because the work stops being miserable.

Project work (one-off engagements)

Not every customer wants ongoing managed IT. Some just need a project done right.

  • Microsoft 365 migrations β€” from Exchange, from Google Workspace, from another tenant.
  • Network design and implementation β€” new build, expansion, re-architecting after acquisition or growth.
  • Security audits and remediation β€” assessment against frameworks like CIS or NIST, prioritized fix list, implementation help.
  • Server replacements and consolidations β€” physical, virtual, or hybrid-cloud migrations.
  • Disaster recovery planning β€” building real RTO/RPO targets and the systems to meet them.
  • IT due diligence β€” pre-acquisition assessment of an IT environment so leadership knows what they're buying.

How pricing works

Managed IT is priced per-user or per-device, depending on what makes sense for your environment. Typical ranges:

  • Small business (10–25 users): $100–$150 per user per month for fully managed.
  • Mid-size (25–100 users): $90–$120 per user per month, with volume tiers.
  • Co-managed: typically 40–60% of fully managed pricing, since you're sharing the work.
  • Project work: fixed-fee where possible, time-and-materials where not. We give you a real estimate before we start.

What's not included in the base price: hardware purchases, third-party software licenses (we resell at cost or recommend you buy direct), major projects outside scope.

What we won't do: sell you a managed-IT contract you don't need. If you're a 5-person business with stable infrastructure that rarely changes, we'll quote you hourly support instead. Locking you into monthly fees that don't pay for themselves isn't how we keep customers for 30 years.

How a new Managed IT engagement actually starts

  1. Free assessment. About 2 hours on-site (or remote). We look at your network, security, backups, and what's already in place. You get a written report regardless of whether we work together.
  2. Proposal. If we're a fit, we send a real proposal with scope, price, and what's specifically included.
  3. Onboarding (4–6 weeks). We document everything, deploy our monitoring and security tools, get help desk credentials set up, and run a quarterly business review template.
  4. Steady state. Day-to-day support starts. Quarterly reviews happen. Annual planning conversations happen.

Industries we know well

We work across a lot of sectors β€” but the ones where we have the deepest playbook are healthcare (HIPAA controls), legal (data confidentiality, e-discovery readiness), manufacturing (OT/IT segmentation), small business (the basics done right), and education (FERPA, K-12 budgets).
